Possible to use in a Fantasy Football type draft?
-
Hi there!
First, I must commend you on the amazing work you’ve done with this plug-in, and the continued support of those using it! I plan to purchase once I can get a better understanding of how it will work for my situation…
Which is, I am basically redesigning a website for a friend who is hosting a charity golf event. The premise is outlined below:
– There will be around 20 celebrities playing in the event.
– Anyone wishing to play in the tournament with a celebrity basically bids on a “draft” position. Once the bidding is closed (roughly 1 month from now) the top 20 bidders will be able to play with a celebrity.
– The person who bid the most will get first choice of which celebrity they want to play with. The person who bid the 2nd most will get second choice, and so on and so forth. Thus far I think your plugin is perfect for handling the actual bidding, which I’ve tested locally and had some success with. My main questions are:
– Is it possible to allow someone to bid less than the required increment? So let’s say the auction starts at $100, with a $5 increment. And 1 week after the auction starts the current bid is $700. At this point I would like for people to still be able to come in and bid $300, since the top 20 people will still get to be a part of the draft. And while $300 won’t get them to the top, it may get them in the top 20.
– Is there a short code to show the top 20 bids so that I could easily put this on the home page of the site? And beyond that, is it possible to only show each persons highest bid in that list (so each person only shows up once in the list)?
I know the first request is an edge case for sure, but I wanted to get your insight just in case it is possible.
Thanks so much for your time, and I hope all is well!
