Possible to script a delayed close of the page?

I’m trying to make a brief logo page for my WP site that users would see for maybe three seconds, ideally fading to the main site, without anyone having to click anything.
Again, basically an opening logo, and then fade.
Would this be possible with this plugin?
So far, I can’t find a solution, whether free or commercial. A commercial javascript I tried to use had a problem of my site loading for a split second before the js loaded, showing the splash screen. It also didn’t close properly, making menu navigation impossible.
Would appreciate any guidance.
