Hi, when creating or editing a blog post using Elementor Pro in WordPress, is it possible to restrict partial content allowing anyone to read the first few paragraphs of a blog but they’d have to subscribe to continue reading? I don’t want to restrict the entire post. OR, if i do check the required memberships, is it possible to increase the number of words that is shown so more than 4 lines of text appear? That would work too.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out to Paid Memberships Pro.

We integrate with Elementor (https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/documentation/compatibility/page-builders/elementor/) which allows you to show/hide sections or elements with PMPro by clicking on the element, then on the Advanced tab and then on the Paid Membershops Pro dropdown. You can then specify which level is required to view that content.

Alternatively, you can use the [membership] shortcode to hide specific text or shortcodes directly in a text editor – more information on this can be found at https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/documentation/content-controls/with-shortcodes/

    1. Jarryd, when using Elementor the blog post is just one large section of text, right? I don’t want to restrict the entire section. If i’m understanding you correctly, i’d have to put the viewable paragraphs in one section and create another section for the hidden content. Is that correct?

    2. Again, alternatively, if i do check the required memberships in the WordPress page editor, is it possible to increase the number of words that is shown so more than 4 lines of text appear? That would work too.

    1. You would need to either break it up into multiple text sections and show/hide them or use the [membership] shortcode in the paragraph/text and wrap the paragraphs that require a membership level with that too.
    2. This is possible but I don’t think it’s going to give you the flexibility you need – a third-party guide on changing the excerpt length can be found at https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/wordpress-excerpt-length/
