Possible to nest sub-categories under categories?

Does not appear to be a method to display sub-categories nested underneath the “super” category — something that would be very beneficial from a browsing standpoint. Am I mistaken?

Also another thing that does need to be taken into consideration: no method to toggle what kind of sections appear in filter on different kinds of pages. For instance:

Main shop page can display the following filter options:

• Price
  Categories
  Tags
  Brands

—

But if within a category page, then only the following should display:

• Price
  Tags
  Brands

Instead “Category” section still appears, even though already within a Category page.

Similarly the case with Tags pages.

I could see two solutions: either offer the ability to customize the filter logic (different display logic for the different kinds of pages). Or allow for the ability to “duplicate” a filter as one with different logic/display, which could be then added as a different widget.
