Possible to install new plugin NOT in directory?

  • I am trying to install a plugin that is not listed in the plugin directory. It says I can upload it in a zip file and when I attempt it, this is what I get:

    Installing Plugin from uploaded file: booked-2.5.10.zip
    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

    Plugin install failed.

    Please help! This plugin is perfect for my purposes and I’ve been dealing with searching for the right one since October!

    it could be that the zip you have downloaded contains a bundle of not just the plugin, but some other files such as documentation as well. If you unzip the file on the deskop of your computer should be able to identify whether this is the case and if so then upload just the plugin. You might want to contact the person who supplied the plugin for specific clarification .
