[Theme: Sydney] Possible to have video/footage background instead of image?

  • Hi there, I’m just wondering if it is possible to use videos/footage instead of images as the background on the main page with the Sydney theme?

    I have tried to use 1 plugin already which crashed my whole site so not sure if anyone can suggest a plugin? I have already reduced the file size of the videos I want to use to about 1.4MB and loaded them on Vimeo.

    You can do this in probably a few ways, what I did was the following:

    First of all replace the default slides by transparent images (.png) with the recommended size of 1920×1275. Now you can load a video in the background with the mb.YTPlayer background video plugin or in your case a plugin that allows you to load a Vimeo video into the background.

    After you’ve done this you have a transparent slider that shows your background video, while the text is still sliding on top of your background video. I hope I explained it the right way. If not, just ask me what part is not clear to you. Hope this works for you ??
