Possible to have multi-line description in Blogroll / Links?

I would like to be able to control line breaks in my link descriptions. Usually you can force line breaks with a
in post titles and such, but this does not seem to work here. Any ideas?

Or alternatively is there something similar to “custom field” plug-in which applies to links?
