Possible to have feed with 4 events from 4 different categories?

    Hi

    I had a look at the shortcode list for WP Event Manger, and I don’t think what I need is supported. But posting here anyway, maybe I just didn’t get how flexible the shortcodes are.

    Anyway, I need a feed with 4 events from 4 different categories, where each is the latest in each category – all 4 sorted by date.

    I guess what I wanted to find in your shortcodes was something like a combination of

    per_category=”1″ (don’t seem to exist) and selected_category=”cat1″ (repeated 4 times).

    Example to clarify my scenario. If I had 4 categories with these event days in place:

    Cat-1
    Jun 20
    Jun 25
    Jul 2

    Cat-2
    Aug 3
    Sep 17
    Sep 28

    Cat-3
    Jun 17
    Aug 7
    Oct 16

    Cat-4
    Jul 3
    Jul 6
    Sep 12

    My feed would be these four, the closest date from each cat:

    Jun 17 (cat 3)
    Jun 20 (cat 1)
    Jul 3 (cat 4)
    Aug 3 (cat 2)

    —

    Would that be achievable with this plugin, using the shortcodes?

    You can either show a feed with oe particular category,
    [events per_page=”4″ selected_category=”cat-1″ orderby=”event_start_date” order=”ASC”]
    Second feed,
    [events per_page=”4″ selected_category=”cat-2″ orderby=”event_start_date” order=”ASC”]
    Third feed,
    [events per_page=”4″ selected_category=”cat-3″ orderby=”event_start_date” order=”ASC”]

    Other than this, it is not possible.

    Okay, I understand. And I guess you are not interested in adding a shortcode like

    per_category=”1″

    Then it would be possible, if multiple categories are possible, to have a list with events in accordance with my scenario, with something like this:

    [events per_page="3" per_category=”1″ selected_category="cat1" selected_category="cat2" selected_category="cat3" orderby="event_start_date"]

    Only asking because I haven’t found any reliable event plugin that can do this…
