Possible to have both the Slider & Featured Image?

I have been searching the support forum for 2 days trying to see if my question has already been asked. I am truly sorry if it has been.

Is there a way to have a FEATURED image for a post but also have a full sized separate slider for that exact same post?

The reason I ask- is it would be really cool to have a featured image (in my case 300×300 graphic for each blog post that shows on my front page). And also have a slider that’s 1170×450 showing at the top of the page and scrolling through the most recent posts.

If not I know I can create sliders and have them point to a specific blog post or category, etc… but it would be so cool and easy if you could do it within an individual blog post. 2 images linking to the same content.

I am using the free version of the Virtue theme. Hope that makes sense.
