Possible to fix undefined my_pthread_fastmutex w/o full mysql reinstall?

The file that defines my_pthread_fastmutex_init is mysqld — the binary that is the MySQL server. So if you have an ability to replace that, it should work as far as ClouSE is concerned. You should thoroughly test such configuration, though.

Ok, well unfortunately, replacing the mysqld w the official version didn’t work.

I should mention we’re using Plesk/CentOS and I read in another thread that you’ve found the configuration is a bit weird and doesn’t work well with the ClouSE install.

Because MySQL wasn’t housed in the usual /usr/local/bin, we were able to just install a new version there, and change where the site looked for MySQL without doing a full uninstall of the original server. We booted up the new install and all the databases seemed in tact, the site runs as expected, etc etc. So I tried again, and ClouSE installed successfully!

However, now Plesk doesn’t work (it would take quite awhile to find all the places where it would need to be pointed to the new install—something I don’t fully understand, but our colleague does, please excuse any obtuseness on my end).

My new question is this:

Now that ClouSE is installed, would it be possible to switch back to the old MySQL install or will we continue to get the error regarding the undefined my_pthread_fastmutex? This would be the easiest solution for us, obviously, but we’re interested enough in your plugin to attempt to point Plesk to the new install if need be.

Please advise on the best course of action at this point. Thanks again!

To answer your question: the server with my_pthread_fastmutex is required for this build of ClouSE to work, not just during installation.
