Possible to exclude placeholder image?

I’m sorry, but I’m not 100% sure what you mean with your question.

If I’m right, you want to know if it’s possible to stop the default placeholder being shown in situations where the category AND none of the products inside it have images – is that right?

Hi Gareth (Gazza?), thanks for such a quick reply.

I just want to prevent the default placeholder from being assigned as an image for any category.

I use an import script to bring my products into WooCommerce, and quite often the publisher of the XML feed does not provide an image for every single product.

In that case, WooCommerce will assign a placeholder image, which will have a specific post ID.

What I would love for your plug-in to do is to be able to specify the post ID of the placeholder image, so that it is ignored when the plug-in seeks for an existing image to assign to the category.

In other words, assign any image as long as it is not the placeholder.

I hope that makes sense, 2 pints down already ??

Yep, that makes sense – that should be possible, I’ll see what I can do – although if the post ID you specify is the actual WC placeholder and not another default, I don’t know if it will behave as you want – ultimately it will need an image, after all.
