Possible to edit audio playlists in media manager? (no plugins)

Is there a way to see my audio playlists and edit them in the media manager?

I am not using any plugins, just the native WordPress 4.3 media manager.

All I seem to be able to do is find the existing post with the playlist, and then:

edit post>add media>create audio playlist

Then I can create a new playlist and insert it into the post.

Alternatively I can add the songs manually from within the post if I know the IDs of each audio item:

[playlist ids="650,611"] etc.

Is there a simpler way (without a plugin)? To be able to create and manage playlists without plugins?
