Using WordPress v4.4.2 and BuddyPress v2.5.0. This plugin was recommended to get a custom registration form on my homepage. Was able to setup the form fields easily and got the form functional on the homepage like I wanted. Was worried about a required field in BuddyPress but the registration process took care of that.

Something changed up though on the account activation process. It looks like the accounts are setup right away and I was seeing some options to include CAPTCHA on the reg form. My previous setup sent an activation email to validate the email address on the account. Is there any way to do that with WP-Members?

It its default configuration, WP-Members sends an initial password to the user via email. In this regard, the user must have provided a legitimate email address to receive access to the site.

Support subscribers have access to a library of code snippets for a wide variety of customizations. There is an article in that part of the support site that describes how to send the user an activation link in the welcome email.

Thanks, I may have gotten ahead of myself. I’ll check out the default configuration and see if we want to go that route instead of having the password fields on the registration form.
