Is it possible to clone a database on phpMyAdmin? My database is over 9megabytes and when I zip it, it’s over 2.6megabytes. When I try to create a new database (clone) by downloading and uploading, the file is to big and no database is created.

I did a Google search to find if it’s possible to clone a db, but I can’t find info on it… is it possible?

    Tks!

  • This is not a forum to support phpmyadmin …

but will try to help you …

you can export the file to your local pc , open the file in any text editor , and start copy/past the sql commands by parts …

you dont need to import the full file , you could import like 1/3 , 1/3 , 1/3 depending on the supported size of ur server …

    good luck .

Thank you, I was hoping there was a button within phpMyAdmin that could easily clone without all the uploading/downloading and cut/paste. ??

I put it in “Miscellaneous” category on this forum since this is where external wordpress things are kept.
