    Hi folks,

There’s a certain domain name I’m wondering if I can completely block access to my blog. It’s a blog that completely copied 2 of my most recent blog articles without crediting me.

Unfortunately the site doesn’t list any email address or contact form. I’ve emailed the only ones listed in that domain name’s WHOIS since Sunday, and I’ve yet to receive any response.

I’ve considered blocking its IP address, though I’m sure they can always change that. So I’m wondering if it’s possible to either block their domain name itself, or block their using my RSS feed. (which is what I’m suspecting they’re using to copy my articles from…)

    Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.

As a followup, I found a few things.

Sadly my host doesn’t have some kind of IP deny manager in their CPanel. I think I found the IP address of the site in question, and saw they accessed the xmlrpc.php file as well as some of my other blog entries.

The way it looks like on their site is they copied my article word for word, but they also copied my related posts! Funnily, the links to those other related posts goes to…well…me.

There may be something here that can help:

Even if you blocked their IP, domain, referer, etc., they could use a proxy and you would be continually adding IPs, etc. You should do that with .htaccess if you decide to go that route.

Alright, I guess I’ll have to go with what you suggested, MickeyRoush. I’ve read a few more things since then based especially on that lorelle article, but it seems pretty much I’ll go with htaccess.

    Thanks!
