Possible security risks?

  • Hi guys,
    just want to let you know that on all our websites we are using Clearfy and the Wordfence Security plugin, we are receiving messages about file changes within the Clearfy Plugin.
    Normally this rings an alarm bell everywhere, so I just want to make sure, that everything is ok.
    The messages says
    Medium Severity Problems:
    * Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/clearfy/clearfy.php

    We did not update or do anything at the websites at all. So maybe it really is something serious.
    Better check and let us know.

    Maybe auto-update is enabled on your site?
    Can you send us this file so we can believe it? wp-content/plugins/clearfy/clearfy.php

    Hi Artem,
    no auto-update is turned off for Clearfy.
    And sorry, I can’t send the file to you, because I immediatly deleted the plugin. Maybe it is false alarm, but I just wanted to let you know.
    I have some other sites where I dont have the message about the file changes. I will keep the Plugin running there and when I am getting an alarm there, I will download it and send it to you.
