I have the free version on our church website sandyhillschurch.com but I am unable to logon to the admin side of the website from my home IP address. I am able to logon to the site as normal from another location and obviously another IP address. My hosting company Strato has looked at lot of options and unable to come up with any solutions. I have checked the logs showing blocked addresses and mine is not there. I have deactivated the plugin and done the plugin.old etc but none of these solve my issue. Can any one throw some light to allow me to work from my IP address as I have been doing since I set up the site in 2012. Thanks

Can anyone help with my IP address being blocked etc.

We are having the same issue, to the point that our own IP is now being blocked and WordFence has locked us out of our site for 2 days. We finally logged in, deactivated the WordFence plug in and this morning it reactivated all on its own and locked us out again. I’ve had a ticket open for 2 days with wordfence and no response, we lost so many orders for our e-commerce business. At this point, just trying to log back in and uninstalling. You can also wait several hours for the Wordfence to unblock itself, if you had a timer set up on your Wordfence settings.

@macanoco I believe Scott M has been working with you in premium support since the day you emailed us. Wordfence does not ‘reactivate’ itself and needs someone to do that. It is possible that if you deactivated it by renaming the wordfence folder that a file system restore renamed it back.

Having said all that please do not hijack other threads as it is against the www.remarpro.com forum rules. Please open your own so that we can better track issues.

@sandyhills – getting back to your issue, can you rename the Wordfence folder to something else (wordfence_temp for example) via your hosting control panel’s file manager or by FTP to disable the plugin (located in the wp-content/plugins/ directory) and then you should be able to immediately login.

Once you login after that, go to the Plugins > Add New page and download the Wordfence Assistant plugin and activate and open that plugin. Go to the “WF Assistant” menu. Click the button to disable the Wordfence firewall. After you do that, you can go back to the FTP or file manager from the first step and rename the wordfence plugin back to wordfence. There should not be any lockouts at that point as the firewall is deactivated.

Let us know if this helps.

    Tim
