I use Easy Digital Downloads with “Custom Prices” in order to allow customers to pick their price. I would really like to expedite the download process for those who choose to pay nothing.

With the “Free Download” extension also enabled, however, the “custom prices” input is bypassed, so users never get the chance to enter a price (of ‘0’ or otherwise).

How easy do you think it would be to make the two extensions play better together? I was thinking what might work would be to, instead of bypassing the ‘purchase’ button, have it bypass the subsequent ‘checkout’ button if the user sets the value (or the value otherwise defaults) to ‘0’. However, I have no idea how the code works so I’m a bit lost for doing it myself.

Let me know if you think this would work, or if you need a copy of ‘custom prices’ to test stuff, or whatever.

Hi, I see, unfortunately bypassing the checkout button won’t be as simple as our current implementation, the only way I can think of now is to use ajax to update the button if the price provided by user is 0, what do you think if it works that way? we would like to give a try, but we can’t promise to get it done soon ?? and yes, a copy for the extension should be needed.
