I’m having a possible incompatibility between iThemes Security and Flexible Maps plugin. I use the map plugin to display the markers in a KML file referenced from my own website with a simple call like:

    [flexiblemap src=https://opistobranquis.info/wp-content/uploads/kms/acteon-tornatilis.kml]

This worked flawlessly until I installed iThemes Security, but this no longer works. I have trying disabling most options in System and WordPress tweaks (those that refer to long URLs, Headers and so on) but I still can’t get to display the KML file.

If I disable iThemes Security the maps display again, and as long as they are in Google cache they display fine, but when the cache expires, they no longer display if iThemes is active.

Any ideas to solve or debug the problem ? Thank you in advance.

Investigating a bit further, this time from the Flexible Maps plugin side, I found the following statement in the documentation, regarding maps not displaying with the mapping plugin:

“Something on your website is stripping the query strings on scripts. Some security plugins do this, and I’ve heard of a theme doing it too. You need to find out what is doing it and fix it, or remove it.”

I’m no programmer, so I can’t tell what is really going on. Any help would be welcome.
