Possible Hack

  • My site kept redirecting after a hack – and had to change URL in phpMyAdmin. Uploaded new WordPress core files and reinstalled plugins from fresh, checked theme for malicious code. Hardened WordPress with Sucuri and Wordfence plugins. Still, the sites URL kept changing. Scanned the DB quickly for code (so could have mal code in DB or cause by plugin.

    Started to uninstall plugins – as soon as I uninstalled this plugin “GDPR Cookie Consent Banner” the hack stopped.

    It could be a coincidence but if anyone else has experienced please let others no.

    Has anyone else been hacked with this plugin – Or am i wrong?
