• I have had WP-Members enabled on one of site of my multisite network for a couple of weeks now. For much longer, I’ve had WangGuard enabled on my entire network. WangGuard works it’s anti-splog magic on standard WP registration and login pages only, so I wasn’t surprised that it didn’t work with WP-Members, and I was OK with that since my purpose in using WP-Members was a short term project with low exposure.

At first, there were no issues. I had several people register using the WP-Members pages without a problem.

But suddenly, two days ago, one registrant complained that he got a “the answer to the security question was incorrect” message. I was able to consistently replicate the problem.

I had never enabled captcha in WP-Members, so I figured it was WangGuard (since I do use the security questions there).

I solved it by removing all the security questions, so clearly that was the problem. While testing, I also encountered another WangGuard error message, so it’s obvious that now vs before, WangGuard is indeed protecting these WP-Members registration pages.

I don’t know if this is due to an update in WP-Members or WangGuard, but I thought you might want to know about it.
