    Hi!
    I’m running the latest CF7 (4.5).

I’m getting some random-ish problems, like memory errors seemingly connected to an Editor User role when uploading things.

While in admin, I wanted to install another plugin to troubleshoot, so I did Plugins…. Add New, and entered a search, so the repository would be searched. No matter what term I used, the search just hung and showed nothing. Very odd.

I began doing the usual disable plugin routine. I have very few installed right now, and when I disabled CF7, the search problem immediately went away! Search is now blazing fast.

I also switched to the Editor User, and was able to edit and upload stuff very fast with CF7 disabled.

I do have one pretty big form with maybe 25 fields, and wondered if that was a problem. I tried deleting the shortcode from the page that was showing it, but the plugin search problem remained.

Any thoughts? I appreciate any input.
    Thanks!

What other plugins and theme do you use? And which version of WordPress?

    Hi Takayuki,
The WP version is 4.6.1. I did enter it, and I see it over on the left. ??

Anyway, just 2 little plugins running right now. Random Content, and Better Font Awesome.

I am running the latest Genesis framework, too. The hosting is at Network Solutions, which, in my experience, really isn’t good. Maybe I could ask them to bump up PHP memory or something.

Even when I disable every plugin and just run CF7, the plugin search hangs, and creating/editing pages is very slow. Everything else works great as long as I don’t run CF7.

This is odd, because CF7 is fantastic, this is the first time in years that I’ve had any significant problem with it.

    Thanks, Dave

    Hi Takayuki,
I worked with Network Solutions tech support on this. I know various ways to increase memory for a site, but their admin interface is so strange that I needed their help to get access to the necessary area. When that was done I doubled the memory setting and output buffering.

I had also thought that they might have been blocking access to a particular file for bandwidth reasons, but that apparently is not the case.

This problem seems to be entirely solved now! As I had secretly guessed, Contact Form 7 really was not the cause of the problem.

Thanks again for one of my favorite applications of all time!

    Dave
