On the main search page, I can filter results from custom fields but only once I select a category. However, if I’m viewing a category, I can’t seem to filter results from custom fields in category view. For example:

If I’m on the search page, and select a category, I can then filter results from default fields such as by rating and by tag. I can also filter results from custom field values. However, if I’m inside a single category view, I can’t filter results from custom fields (only default ones such as by rating and tag). Is this a bug or normal behavior?

    Also, a feature request:

Can you add a feature to Directorist – an AJAX filtering mechanism to the search sidebar widget that allows custom filtering/searching of number-type custom fields?

For example: website owner has credit card listings on their website and needs to be able to filter results using sliders from custom fields such as APR, Credit Level, Annual fee, etc.

  • Hi,
We’ve tested the issue, filtering custom field data from single category view is working fine, you can check it from our demo site https://aazztech.com/demos/plugins/directorist/demo-one/

Adding AJAX filtering feature is already in our plan, hopefully you will see it in future updates.

Cool, but it’s not working on my installation. How can I fix?

I noticed ‘Category’ has to be checked under ‘Listings Page’ > ‘Filter Fields’ in order for the custom fields to be filterable.

However, I’m confused as to how the demo doesn’t require you to select a category before it shows the custom fields; my installation requires me to select a category first. Which, if I’m viewing a current category, this should be auto-populated so when a user clicks “Filter” they can see all the custom fields to filter through rather than having to select the current category first.
