• Hi everybody… The tutorials out there are very clear. In “Reading Settings”… you can choose custom pages for Front Page and also for Posts Page.

I want a custom page for posts page (like, https://www.mysite.com/blog), so I create a custom page with “/blog” permalink and create a custom page template for this new page.

If I don’t use the Reading settings, I can access to the blog page without any problem. But if I select the page I created in reading settings for “Posts Page”, WordPress doesn’t recognize the custom page template anymore.

According to the Codex wordpress is looking for the home.php template (something that doesn’t make much sense, since front-page.php is the page for home-page).

So, I tried to remove the custom page template of ‘Blog’, and edit the “home.php” and effectively that is the only template WP read, although I clearly assign a custom page, with a custom page template in “Reading Settings”.

This seems very weird for me, or maybe I’m doing something wrong… Someone else is facing this same issue?

PS: At least, I think that home.php and front-page.php are very misunderstandings names. Thanks for read…
