• Latest update 5.7 is forcing established shops to go through set up, I am assuming this is a bug rather than intentional? Can an update for this be released.
    Thank you

Hi, can you help us in reproducing this bug by adding following info:

    1. Which version did you upgrade from if you remember it?
    2. System status report, you can get it by going to WooCommerce > Status and click on get System report button.

This would definitely be a bug and not intentional at all. But so far I have not been able to reproduce it in my test sites.

    Hi Vedanshu,
System status is showing nothing, redacted version (site & apps names removed). Woo is from last to 5.7 no skipped versions. I have scene this error this morning on multiple sites across numerous hosting providers and set up’s.
For those affected whilst a fix is being worked on, some points to check, if you have re set up.
    1. Shipping: it is forcing woo commerce native solution, if you have a 3rd party shipping plugin, you shipping will still be there, but you will need to remove the shipping option you set up during forced set up, otherwise you will have two.
    2. Marketing: It is forcing the installation of the Google listing and ads plugin, if you do not want, press get started, do not activate plugin, you can delete again after set up is complete.
Vedanshu- it is also not recognising where Google listing and ads is already installed and marketing still needs to be gone through.

Same issue here. Updated from version 5.6.1 where there was no problem. Becaus a did not have a back-up with that version, I did role back to 5.6.0 but that did not solve the issue. Hope you can sort this bug out very soon….

Same here with the upgrade from the previous latest version.

It also effects 2 other sites which weren’t updated to the latest WooCommerce and were running the previous release which might explain why the rollback above didn’t work as it seems to disregard the version in my experience.

    ***Update***

I managed to run through the 3 missing setup options which were SET UP TAX, SET UP MARKETING TOOLS and PERSONALIZE MY STORE and it has removed the setup notification and I can see the WooCommerce Status tab again. I just installed and deleted MailChimp and skipped through the personalisation options to complete setup.

    Hi @riverie , @eatcookie ,

Thank you for sharing your solutions! Our developers are actively looking into this issue. I’ve added your cases to our report for their investigation.

    Hi @edwinwerner ,

I’d recommend going through the setup wizard to configure WooCommerce settings again if you haven’t done so.

Feel free to get back to us in case you have any additional questions!

    Hi @thup90,
Thank you for your reply. My Woocommerce shop was setup many years ago and running perfectly. Why do I have to runs setup wizard again? Will it overwrite my existing settings? F.e my taxes have already been set. Hope you can clear this out for me. Thanks in advance.

    Hi @edwinwerner ,

Are your WooCommerce settings still showing up? If they still do, you could just hide the setup box on your WooCommerce dashboard: https://d.pr/i/Va7Wvy without going through the setup wizard.

Please note that this is not the intended behavior and we’re looking into fixing this.

    Hi @thup90,

Unfortunately it is not possible for me to hide the setup box on my dashboard: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoBAVIWWn-_ngShzMSFnmUKMup54?e=0JXumD
I can only fold in or out (the tab). Since all my settings are present I will (fold in and) ignore the setup box, until this issue is solved. Too bad I wille have to do without the Woocommerce status meta box in the meantime ;-(

    Hi @edwinwerner ,

The 5.7.1 version has been released to address this issue. Could you update your WooCommerce and see if that helps?

    Hi @thup90

I just updated to version 5.7.1 and unfortunatelly nothing changed. Status meta box stil is not being displayed and in stead of the met box the setup box is showing (just as it previously did). ;-(

    @thup90
I did some testing with disabling other plugins. After disabling “Disable Woocommerce Bloat” plugin everything is looking and working as it should be (according to WC). I have contacted the plugin author for help. I hope for solution that contains a good working WC and disabled (for my webshop) unnecessary additional WC items. To be continued…..

@riverie. It is not my intention to ‘hijack’ your threat. It is all ment to be contributing to finding a solution for the problems many of us experience ??

    Hi @thup90
I was experiencing more and more problems with login to my admin panel and the site became slower and slower, so I did role back to version 5.6.0 again. Admin panel is now working again and my website is running. I am back to ignoring the setup box and missing the status box. Hope WC finds a solution very soon.

    Hi @edwinwerner ,

It sounds like slow site could be caused by a code conflict with another plugin or the theme with the new version of WooCommerce. If you’d like to find out which one is causing the issue, I’d recommend the steps in this link: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

    Hi @thup90
I will do so. To be contunued. The admin panel problem however has been mentioned in other posts and is related to WC. Version 5.7.1. does not work properly for me as well.

I’m not sure if we were having the same issue caused by the same situation, but I did have the “setup bug” upon updating. I was able to get things back to normal by making a purchase on my site without touching anything in the setup box. Once the order went through, the setup box changed back to the familiar WC status box.

I understand it might not be reasonable for some people to make a purchase on each and every site they run, but this seemed to work for me so I wanted to pass it along.
