Hi there,

I really like the Mailpoet plugin. I have messed around with Mailchimp, Brevo and Jetpack before, but none of themcomes even close to Mailpoet! Everything worked just from scratch and it was set up completely within a few hours.

I just have some minor issues with the design and the content of the post notification email, and I hope somebody can help.
1. Is it possible to include different text elements based on the value of some variables? Example: based on the value of the number of posts (shortcode [newsletter:total]) I would like to use the following text:
  value=1 -> text=”This is a notification about a new post”
  value>=2 -> text =”This is a notification about [newsletter:total] new posts”
2. Latest Post Section: There are some design options for the Post Title (font size, color, font type), but there is no possibility to use bold or italics?
3. Latest Post Section: I can include the category and author, but not the pubdate. Is there a possibility to create a line of text above the post excerpt saying “Published on <pubdate> in category <category>”?

That’s wonderful to hear! Thank you for sharing, and I’m glad everything worked well with the set up.

Unfortunately though, as you’ve found there aren’t built-in options for those points you were trying to customize.
- Conditional text is not possible directly in the email customizer. It might be possible to do what you wanted by creating a custom shortcode though, and putting that if/else in your code: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/160-create-a-custom-shortcode
- in the Automatic Latest Content block, you can select whether titles should be Heading 1, 2, or 3, and in the Styles tab you can set the font and size, but no options for bold or italics.
- also, no current options to display the post date. There’s an open request to add that here —?it would be great if you could add your vote to the request: https://mailpoet.canny.io/feature-requests/p/add-post-date-to-articles-block-settings
