• I like the Photos hack, but there are no slideshow features with it and the images don’t link to their source (in case a user wants to download/print them). Also, movie and sound clips are not incorporated into it. (Hence the title “Photos hack” I presume.)
Not only can I not find this type of thing included in any CMSes, but I can’t even find it as a standalone. What a shocker for me, trying to develop a website with photos, movies, and sounds. Is there any talk about developing a multimedia gallery hack for WP?

  • for WP, i don’t know, but did you searched at hotscripts.com ?!… your description of a gallery is quite normal, no real fuzz… there is plenty of them at that site…

Hmmm… that might be a good option. I can see that there are tutorials for integration into PHP-Nuke, PostNuke, phpWebSite, vbPortal / vBulletin, pMachine, Movable Type, and Geeklog. I wish that there was one for WordPress.

I’ve just seen the newest version of Gallery and it looks like a possible solution to this. It now comes with RSS and is close to total compliance. A big step in the right direction for the devopers of that fine program!

Take another look at Coppermine. The current version (1.3) allows for video and sound upload. It’s a bit hairy to make it play nice with WP, but it’s what I use, and I’m fairly pleased.
