Portion of a SKU search does not return Simple Products

  • If a SKU is searched for by only a portion of the Sku, only Variable products are returned. All Variable Products matching the portion of the search Sku are returned. No Simple Products are returned.

    If a Simple Product is searched for by the exact Sku the Simple Product is returned.

    This behavior started with Woocommerce 2.4.6. Prior to this both Simple and Variable Products were returned when only a portion of the Sku was used as a search term.

    Example:

    Test sku’s:
    12345 (Simple Product)
    12346 (Variable Product)
    12347 (Variable Product

    Search Term:
    1234

    Returned Results:
    12346
    12347

    Error:
    12345 (Simple Product) is not returned in the search results.

    I love your plugin, it is critical to my productivity. Is it possible to get an update to the plugin.

    My comment above is NOT correct.

    I just did another search using only a portion of the SKU and both Variable and Simple Products were returned.
