My site already uses the inbuilt WP subscription content feature. I want to be able to offer free subscriptions so I’m looking at installing the Paid Member Subscriptions plugin. If I do this, can I port over all of the existing members seamlessly (i.e. without the users having to do anything)?

    Thanks

    Hi @charliemaxclassics,

Unfortunately, importing/exporting subscriptions is not currently possible with our plugin, but I have added your request to our development list, so it might be implemented in a future version, but we can’t estimate when that may be.

Note 1: A workaround would be to export the user from the old site to the new site -> then the user will need to log into their account -> after which they can go to the Register page from where they can subscribe to a subscription plan.

Note 2: Or another workaround would be to export the user from the old site to the new site -> and as an admin from the WordPress Dashboard -> Paid Member Subscriptions -> Members page -> you can assign subscription plans to the users. You can read more about this here: https://www.cozmoslabs.com/docs/paid-member-subscriptions/member-management/#Add_New_Member

Sorry to hijack this thread, but it is a problem I am now facing..

When you add a new member subscription manually as a paid subscriber, how do they pay for their subscription? Does it sit as pending and sends them out a email?

I am using this to restrict content and offer paid subscriptions to access the site. We used a plugin previously for subscriptions to our digital and print magazines. But now we are going completely to an online-only magazine, so they get teasers to articles, and then can unlock by weekly, monthly or yearly subscriptions.

Brains hurting thinking about the logistics.
