Portfolio/testimonials as content types?

Hi there,

I have recently set up a fresh website with WP 4.9.5, self hosted. I’m using the Lodestar theme, which so far as I understand supports the content types ‘portfolio’ and ‘testimonials’. I’ve never used these before, but it seems if you are using wordpress.com (which, again, I am not) you have the option of activating portfolio/testimonials as a content type under settings: https://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/

Is there a way of doing this if you are self-hosted, or some other way to use these template features? I know that I can install other portfolio and testimonial plugins, but it would be nice to use a WP built-in feature if indeed there is one. Thanks!
