Portfolio items

    I want to have the link on the portfolio items go to a separate tab or new window. I searched and some of the responses did not appear to be applicable, not sure why not, e.g., I do not have nimble-portfolio, etc. I am using the Ace theme. I went to the theme options and did not see anything under the portfolio options to accomplish what I want. Of course, it may be there and I just do not know how do do it! Please help! TIA.

  • It is possible but may require editing code and adding target=”_blank” at the end of the URL in the WordPress template file that is being used to display portfolio items.

    I do not have access to this theme or I would be able to give you more precise instructions so I would suggest asking the author how this can be implemented.

    thanks Keith. I have seen the target=”_blank” mention in my search; however, I have not found out where it goes. Good idea on contacting the theme.

    I contacted the Ace Theme folks and they gave me the solution, which works as I wanted it to work.

    There is a line in: portfolio-layout-fixed.php (includes/portfolio-layout-fixed.php) & portfolio-layout-masonry.php (includes/portfolio-layout-masonry.php), to which I added target=”_blank”. I tried to post the exact line; however, it kept coming across as a link even if I pasted it as plain text!?
