Hi there – really sorry about that ??

I don’t know what went wrong there. As long as the portfolio module is active it should display.

Did you manage to get it back? Converting the other way should allow you to use the Jetpack portfolios again until we can work out what has happened.

    Hi @binarymoon,

Yes, that’s what I did to get it back: converting the other way.

But, because of xmlrpc being blocked by my host for security reasons, I am looking for a better portfolio solution. And I hoped yours would be it.

    Sincerely,
    Birgit

Well I’m glad you got it back at least.

I shall run some tests on my plugin and make sure it’s still working as it should.

Toolbelt is good because it’s more private, but the portfolio functionality is very simple so if you’re looking for more features it may not be suitable. I think the biggest difference is that Toolbelt includes a portfolio block so that you can add projects to custom pages.

If you’re happy using Jetpack then one option might be to use the Jetpack dev mode plugin, which disables the bits of jetpack that contact the WordPress.com servers (so doesn’t need xmlrpc), but allows you to use the parts that work without WordPress.com.

There’s info on how you can do this yourself here:
    https://jetpack.com/support/development-mode/

    Thanks – Ben
