Portfolio categories missing

    Hello,
    I have searched through the archives and been googling for 2 hours, but I cannot find an answer to my question.

    I am working with a client who wants a Portfolio set-up. I picked the theme Orvis, enabled JetPack and created three portfolios so far. But there is no option for Portfolio Categories. I need categories so that I can display certain portfolios on specific pages. I have three pages where I need just one portfolio to display. I tried using Portfolio shortcode with the assigned project tags (since I don’t have Categories), but that did not work.

    It is still a work-in-progress, but I am stuck. The homepage is fine with displaying the 3 portfolios, but on the other pages (New Word, Garden, Flora & Fauna), I only want to display that specific portfolio.

    When I am logged into the dashboard, and I look at the left column, under Portfolio, I see:
    All projects
    Add new
    Project types
    Project tags

    I feel like there is something simple I am missing, but I cannot figure it out.

    There isn’t necessarily a Category option for Portfolios, technically Project Type is the category.

    So, you aren’t missing anything, it just kind of has a different name. ??

    For displaying on specific pages, the shortcode may be more to your liking. Though this document is for WordPress.com, the operation is the same on Jetpack sites: https://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/portfolio-shortcode/

    Thanks, James. That makes me feel better that I wasn’t just missing something obvious.

    I had been trying shortcodes earlier in the day and it was not working. But I started anew and got it working.

    Thanks again for the reply. I felt like I was going crazy trying to figure out where the categories were.
