Portfolio as a main page

Hello,

I have two different pages with two different portfolios. One works as a main page and even though I’ve assigned proper categories/post types to every entry, all entries still appear on the main page. For now I limited the amount of elements that are shown on the maine page and gave the ones from another portfolio high order numbers so they don’t show. Is there any other way to do it?

Is it also possible to have an infinite scroll or all pages are limited to a certain (16?) amount of images?
