    You can set your homepage to show “Your latest posts” and check if your custom post type will show up on homepage.

    WordPress admin -> Settings -> Reading

    Would that allow me to display other content on the homepage also, or only the listing of latest posts?

    Hi,

    It will only show your latest posts and featured pages.
    You will not be able to enter content, unless you are using a static homepage.

    But that brings me back to my original question:
    Is it possible to incorporate the archive-style portfolio list display on a static home page? If so, how?

    If I were using Customizr Pro, would that make a difference?
