Popup text instead of a URL

    I’d like to use this plug-in to show simple text when the link is clicked (instead of a webpage). For example, I want the link to read:

    John Smith Credentials

    And when the link is clicked, a box pops up with only text (formatted or otherwise). I know this wouldn’t work, but the short code might look like this:

    [popup text="Blah, blah, blah, blah<br />Blah, blah, blah, blah" height="300" width="300" scrollbars="yes" alt="popup"]John Smith Credentials[/popup]

    If this can’t be accomplished with Alligator Popup, does anyone know of another plug-in that might accomplish this?

    What you have described is very different to what the alligator popup plugin was designed to do.

    It sounds like you are looking for a tooltip plugin. Search the plugin directory using ‘tooltip’ as a keyword and compare the features of the plugins returned to see whether any might be suitable for you. Tooltip plugins would typically show some text on hover, but some might also have an option to show the text on click.

    I have tried also me to do that, but it can’t! try using another javascript code
