Popup not opening in IE or Chrome when link in popup content

In Internet Explorer and Chrome the popup does not show if the contents of the popup message has an
<a href=". Popups do show if there is no link in the popup content.No problems in Firefox. Any ideas please?
Using WordPress 3.5.2 with Anything Popup 5.0.
