    After the update to wordpress 5.6 the plugin “popup maker” was no loonger working with triggers using css selector. After some research, tried this plugin and switched the jQuery version to the previous before update, all worls great now!

    Seems like this hasn’t been fixed yet. Having to rely on a deprecated version of jQuery is not a fix it’s a temporary workaround and could have security issues or break other theme/plugin functionality in the future if they do not update the code.

    well there’s a way to make the popup work especially for mobile. The key part is checking what URL is requested on the console (network) and add that on your menu/a href. Ultimately instead of executing the event you’ll be running the request directly that will open the popup regardless of viewport.
