    Hello Mail Mint

we have installed Email Marketing Automation v.1.11.0 and created a simple popup form using the Subscribe Newsletter template, set to appear on all pages, and hide for 7 days.

After the form has been submitted it shows a success message and redirects to the configured page.

But the popup keeps reappearing. The same happens when the CLOSE button is clicked.

We expected the popup not to reappear if a form was submitted, or the CLOSE button was clicked.

We tried creating an automation with 1 year delay after form submitted but there is no option to prevent the form appearing anyway.

WordPress version 6.5.3, default TwentyTwentyFour theme, with no other plugins installed

Hi @treecutter , thanks for informing us.

Can you share a link to a page where we can experience the pop-up?

Meanwhile, we will also test it on our end and get back to you with our findings.

    Thanks.

Hello, thanks for your reply. We have updated the plugin to version 1.11.1 and can see new option :

“After Form Submission” ( ONLY available for ‘sample page’ ) which we have set to “hide form”

However the issue remains. After a successful form submission, the form keeps appearing.

When the X ( CLOSE ) is clicked, the form also keeps appearing.

Hi @treecutter , the link you provided is not working.

Meanwhile, we could recreate it on our site. So we will need more information:

    1. What theme are you using?
    2. Do you have a caching plugin on your site?
    3. What version of Mail Mint are you using?
    4. Do you have any other pop-up builders installed in your website?

    Do let us know.

    Thanks.

    Hello

Please try the link again, if it does not work then please advise your public IP address ?

    The theme is default TwentyTwentyFour

    No caching plugin

    Mail Mint version 1.11.1

No other plugins or popup builders installed

NOTE: after clicking the X/CLOSE or submitting the form , the popup closes successfully, but when page is refreshed, the popup appears again.

We would expect something like a cookie to be set to remember that the form has already been closed and/or submitted, so the popup is not displayed again.

@treecutter Can you edit the form, take a screenshot of the form settings on the right side, and share it with us?

    Thansk.

Hi @treecutter , we tried to test in several browsers and website setups but we couldn’t recreate this.

We normally handle the pop-up/fly-in delays through cookies.

Can you check if you have disallowed cookies on the browser you are testing, or, if you have denied cookies for your site?

Also, do you have any custom JS-code applied to your site or on the homepage?

    Do let us know. Thanks.

    Hello

Thank you for your kind efforts and reply. We hve now updated to your latest version 1.12.0 but the issue remains, no cookies are being set. The site is a very simple site setup exclusively to test your plugin. There are no other plugins installed

Please can you try this to replicate the issue:

    visit https://macbookmark.uk

The popup subscribe form will appear. Click on the X to close the form. Click on top menu ‘Sample Page’ Then click on site title ‘Macbookmark’ to return to the home page. The subscribe form will re-appear ! It should not re-appear.

Repeat the above steps , this time entering an email and clicking on the ‘Subscribe button’ Click on top menu ‘Sample Page’ Then click on site title ‘Macbookmark’ to return to the home page. The subscribe form will re-appear ! It should not re-appear.

    Thank you

Hi @treecutter , I believe this is a unique issue we couldn’t recreate on our end. And the link you provided is not working from our IP for some reason. But I definitely want to help you with this.

Can you email us with a time or a link to your calendar when we can maybe get on a call and you can show me how it’s set up? Then It will be a faster way to find a solution for you.

    Thanks.

    Hello

Very pleased to say we have solved this issue. Your ‘unique issue’ got us thinking and after much troubleshooting we found the Apache server config has this line:

    ExpiresByType text/html A3600

Issue resolved by changing above to:

ExpiresByType text/html “access plus 0 seconds”

Big THANK YOU for all your kind support, highly appreciated !
