Problem: Popups do not auto-open anywhere on the site.

Hello! I’ve installed Popup Maker on other sites with no issues; however, on this site, it does not seem to want to work. I’ve created the popup, set the trigger to auto-open, and left conditions blank so that it will appear on all pages. What could I be missing?

I’m guessing there is a coding conflict somewhere, but can’t figure out where. I’ve deactivated all plugins (except Popup Maker, of course) and reverted to the 2017 theme, but the popup still doesn’t appear. I’ve also uninstalled/reinstalled Popup Maker, as well as WordPress. Still no luck.

Any advice at all is greatly appreciated.

same issue. I have installed and added one very simple text popup. one auto open trigger no filters. This should be simple. No JS errors. Cannot open from the admin panel.

Hi, i grabbed an older version I had from another website – replaced the plugin files with the older version and it works now. That’s not an ideal solution, but its a working solution.

sort your act out guys !

@ampedcreativ – Can either of you check php error logs. Have a feeling its a PHP error in the footer which you never see. It would be logged though. If that is the case I can patch it quickly once I know what it is.

Having the same problem, PHP error log doesn’t show anything related.

@danieliser – Checked the PHP error log, but it shows nothing related.

BTW, I also updated the plugin to the latest release that went out today.

@ampedcreativ – Very strange. Sorry guys still digging on this one, haven’t found anything solid yet that explains why the popups are not loading correctly.

I’m curious have any of you processed the mandatory data migrations in the admin? If not that could be part of the problem.

@danieliser – I actually made a fresh install, so no data migration was necessary

@danieliser – Yes, I did complete the data migration process, but it did not affect anything.

Popups on my sites I maintain are now down also. Would love not to switch off of this plugin.

https://greatcommissiondesign.com/anchorcommunitychurch < this is using an old version that works, but also triggers another popup!

    Please advise!

I’ve removed from https://sourcechurch.net, as I couldn’t get it to function. It’s still at https://greatcommissiondesign.com/anchorcommunitychurch though.

@aaronyoungren, @ampedcreativ, @tratcliffe, @matteopieroni – It sounds like v1.7.9 that went out earlier this morning should have resolved most of what has been described. v1.7.9 patched an issue that would have affected new installs just the same in that it didn’t render the popup html in the footer.

We are rapidly patching all issues found but if you find its still not working, please start a new fresh ticket with details on your issue only so we can make sure they all get resolved correctly.

Marking this resolved to better track open issues.

@danieliser – Just to confirm, today’s update seemed to do the trick for me. The pop-ups are now appearing. As an FYI, I did need to clear my cache after the update in order to see the changes.

    Thanks for the help!

@danieliser – I also confirm it is working now! Great job!
There now seems a problem when I save the popup position settings get to default.

@ampedcreativ, @matteopieroni – Thanks for confirming, we are still investigating the caching issues. The reality of the situation is we have no clue why its happening, and by all technical reasons it shouldn’t be.

@danieliser – No worries, keep up the great work!
