My PayPal checkout popup was immediately closing (killing the checkout flow) when using v1.6.4 and works perfectly since I’ve rolled back to version 1.6.3. Some specifics of my setup:

    • Env: Live
    • Landing Page: Login
    • Payment Action: Sale
    • Require Instant Payment
    • Using Smart Buttons (gold, pill, vertical, responsive, hide credit card)
    • Not enabled on single product

I have not successfully identified the specific culprit within the plugin code.

    Hi @iscmark

Does this issue happen after switching to a default theme like Twenty Seventeen and disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal Checkout? If not, then re-enable each one at a time until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

    John,

Thanks for the reply. I have not gone through that process yet. The only change made was the PayPal plugin. When using 1.6.4, the popup closes immediately. When using 1.6.3, it works perfectly. Clearly there’s something amiss.

I’ll report back once I’m able to go through that process.

I’ve had the same issue. Had to roll back to 1.6.3

Was throwing an uncaught error “Cannot read property ‘message’ of undefined” in serialize.js @line 175

I have a screenshot of the console, but I’m not sure how to post it here.

    Hi guys,

We have been able to replicate this on Chrome with Storefront installed, so we have escalated this to the developers. We will update here when we have more.

Just adding that we also had the same issue with the disappearing PayPal popup screen, after updating to version 1.6.4. The 1.6.5update didn’t fix this, so we too had to revert back to 1.6.3 to allow customers to actually pay with PayPal.

Hi all, we have this issue open on GitHub – https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-paypal-express-checkout/issues/487

Please not, that issue is not for support but for providing extra information for troubleshooting this issue.

If you have any further details to share, please do update that issue.

    Thanks,

What is the status of this? I’m still getting this issue. I once saw a page that said it was related to PP info not being loaded yet when the page is opened? There was some code to disable the PP button until it was ready. Of course now I can’t find this page again.

My site is a month old, and everything worked when I tested. Customers kept saying PP would flash and disappear or never ending spinner. I did get some successful orders, though. After many tries I experienced these issues myself. All up to date and failed with only Woocomerce, storefront, and PP active. Similar error messages as above.
