Popup Ads

  • Hello all…thought I’d drop a note for community feedback. I’ve had 4 recent user “complaints” that my client’s site is serving pop-up ads on mobile phones when users click the menu; however it is not constant and at this time, the ads only appear on Android phones. There is no custom code that was installed to serve ads, the site has not been compromised (scanned AND using WordFence) and I can’t replicate the issue on any devices that I’ve tried (iPhone, iPad, PC, Macbook).

    My gut feeling is that the issue is with the Android phones that see the pop-ups – that they at some point have downloaded software that might enable them and that it’s causing a false-positive. I don’t deal with Androids all that often and was curious if anybody else has seen anything similar happen with other sites using this theme.

    THanks for reaching out and I’m sorry for the trouble.

    That’s a weird one. Do you have an example of the actual link they open? Maybe it’s a virus that these users happen to have installed.

    We tested this site on Android, no pop-ups meanwhile.

    Can you please post exact menu link leading to pop-up ads?
