POP3 connect: Error

    I’m trying to get post-by-email to work and it isn’t. The email is set up correctly and the same settings work fine for me to send and receive mail via both the webmail, Outlook etc, but WordPress won’t use them.

    When I manually put in the domain.com/wordpress/wp-mail.php link I get this error sent back:

    POP3 connect: Error [220 friskymail-a1.g.dreamhost.com ESMTP]

    This happens on both the default 25 port and the 587 that Dreamhost also uses. But again, same settings let me grab email fine in any email program. Any idea?

  • I had the same issue, but resolved it setting the port back to 110 as opposed to the outgoing port of 26 specified by the server.
