pop up window on homepage

hello!

i would like to have a pop-up window on my homepage, or the first page someone visits. i am talking about a real window, not a javascript overlay. i want to use this window for a music player. i am just afraid this window would keep on duplicating itself on every new page if i used a simple javascript in the header.php.

what would you do, or start with?
