Our plugin actually gives you a “dismiss” button just like any other WordPress notification, but the developers of some plugins can force-hide all notification dismiss buttons for some reason. One case of this is the “Lead In” plugin (which we didn’t create)? Do you have it? if so, that’s the source of the problem, not our plugin. Other people who have that particular plugin have complained about their bug. Your one star rating for our plugin is in effect a result of an error that is *not* on our plugin.
If you have the Lead In plugin, temporarily deactivate it and WordPress will begin to reveal the dismiss button.
We politely ask that you re-rate our plugin based on its merits. In the meantime we’ve been looking into workarounds that will prevent Lead In from affecting our plugin.
Finally, the popup presents information about the updates to all versions of our plugin. If you read the popup that you described, you’ll see that there’s more information than just something “about the Pro version” as you chose to state above.
