When viewing on some older phones from the stock browser you only see the sidebar. Gingerbread phones are still common here in Kenya, so lots of my friends told me the site didn’t work when they saw I switched to Decode. ??

  • Are you using the latest version of Decode? I believe this has been resolved in the latest updates.

    Hey, dude.

Yeah, I’m using the latest version. I actually don’t own a device with 2.3, but had asked a buddy to test again when I saw the modernizr etc updates recently in git. Lemme poke him again. ??

So I tested it myself and it didn’t work. This is a hard fix because Android passes the test for 2D transforms, but it’s extremely buggy. I don’t want to resort to user-agent sniffing either so I’m at a bit of an impasse.

Yeah, so I don’t know how far we want to bend over for old browsers… even low-end phones are coming with Android 4.0 now, and that browser should be much more modern.

Yes, I don’t mind testing for support, but user agent sniffing seems really hacky. This also only happens on sites with the sidebar enabled, which is surely quite a few, but not all.
