• Poor support from plugin owner, some unresolved and unresponded to posts in the support forum for over 3 months.

Plugin DOES speed up site. Not all features work, especially selecting which ones scripts etc you don’t want to defer or move to the end.

It also doesn’t move all scripts to the end like it says it does.

It broke the Nivo Slider included with the mantra theme

Worst thing about it is, after deactivating this plugin my site was twice as slow as it was before I installed it.

As such I have had to reactivate the plugin and remove the Nivo Slider temprarily.

Hi, I understand your situation. Getting this plugin to work can be very tricky sometimes. In some cases javascript files cannot be moved to the footer and that has nothing to do with this plugin. In some cases it is the way the other plugins and themes are developed.

Also if you have a cache plugin installed, sometimes it can play a negative part in the way this plugin functions.

This plugin does work but you have to carry out some testings before you finalize your site. Some plugin features will not work in all environments.

I hope this encourages you to increase your rating a bit.

    Kind regards

Is there a way to test it with a theme?
For example I use “Sonic” theme by WolfThemes.
I’ve activated the speedbooster plugin and not sure if it is working. However when I go to the settings page, there is nothing there but a link to read the FAQs…
    Thanks

@rypcy17, it is always best to create a support thread rather than ask in the reviews section.

    Thank you

I moved from a VPS to Shared hosting because I didn’t have the time for the constant server maintenance and did notice a bit of a speed dip initially which is why I started looking into all the performance boosting plugins.

On the VPS everything was loading really quickly but there was a memory leak “somewhere” that occasionally caused problems, but I couldn’t locate it.

In regards to the performance boosting/checking things I have on my site I have

WP Super Cache (I had bad experience with W3 Total Cache before a year or two ago but it caused my site to go down and the support guys didn’t help.. it might be different now.. would you recomend the switch?)

    Autoptimize
    BJ Lazy Load
Remove Query Strings From Static Resources
    Speed Booster Pack
    WP Performance Score Booster

I do have Jetpack installed and Photon turned on too..

Everything was fine and getting better but my “scores” were still not the best.
Installing the “Speed Booster Pack” did improve my scores, but broke Jetpacks Related posts and the Nivo Slider on the front page (although o be fair I think I have decided I prefer my site without the slider now)

My speed was getting better and better, I got load times to 2-4 seconds

for some reason the load times have gone up to 7+ seconds now, but the scores are still “good”

I use GTMetrix for checking speeds presently.

I tell ya, I miss my VPS now lol. I just don’t have the time or linux knowledge to keep everything working properly.

I’m not even much of a web dev… this is a hobby/sideline thing.. I am an SQL/VbA programmer in my day job.. just want something simple now.

Hi, in regards to your comment.

There are hosts out there that will do most of the heaving lifting in a VPS and Dedicated server. Who did you originally signed up with?

A shared account will always have limits. If you don’t want to go in the VPS path then at least sign up for a Pro account which is much better than a normal shared account. I recommend Inmotion hosting.
