• This plugin does not allow third-party minifiers and optimizers to save their output in the cache. The cached HTML is the original version. Without this support, caching has limited impact.

  • hey shflbrian ; I’m Autoptimize’s developer. Not sure what your setup is re. optimizing, but Cache Enabler works well with Autoptimize and the pages are stored with optimized HTML/ CSS/ JS/ … so it _can_ work in that context at least.

I use defer.js, but it has been the case with other free plugins as well. I haven’t got into the bigger paid plugins very much. If I can add a hook or something to a plugin to enable compatibility, I will change my review.

I’m not deep into CE, but the cache_enabler_before_store filter might be worth looking into? ??

I’ll see if I can learn something, but I assume that is not how you maintain your own plugin’s compatibility with CE.

To add, the optimizer does suggest a cache, meaning they have probably tested this plugin with a cache. https://i.imgur.com/QYwSSrr.png

AO uses output buffering in order not to depend on any caching plugin.

It seems this review is used like a support thread. It would be nice if it gets removed.

We recommend the AO plugin made by @optimizingmatters

@shflbrian this review is false and misleading. @optimizingmatters was correct, the cache_enabler_before_store filter can be used to modify the page before it’s cached by Cache Enabler.

@shflbrian following up as I’ve not heard back yet. You’ve been provided a filter hook that existed before the time of you posting this review. This means you’ve left a false, misleading review. Do you plan on updating it?
