[Polylang] How to create .POT file?

  • Hello,

    I am using polylang and poedit for mac. And would like to translate all my strings of the theme into another language.

    I would like to
    1. Create a .pot file for my theme as it doesn’t come with it.
    2. Translate
    3. Create .po and .mo file out of it
    4. Upload strings

    Step 1 i have been trying using this tutorial for creating a .pot file.

    But how can I even select a folder of my theme on my computer to place the file there? This is a very basic question. I can just choose files that are on my local device. Do I need to download all theme files via FTP first?
