polylang header image

Hello the polylang plugin is a great plugin to use.
I have 2 issues, any help will be appreciated:

1) I have added the code mentioned in this article
https://polylang.wordpress.com/2013/05/03/a-multilingual-custom-header-image/ and have changed the link in step for by the strings, but there is no change on the frontend of the site(I’m using karuna theme)

2) The site kolsimcha.site gets redirected to the second language, instead of staying on the default homepage
